Donkwa (also spelled Dodonkwa or called Tanfiri in some regions) is a traditional Nigerian snack popular in northern Nigeria. It is a soft, crumbly, no-bake snack made mainly from roasted groundnuts (peanuts), cornmeal or roasted maize flour, sugar, and spices such as ginger, cloves, or chili pepper. It has a sweet, nutty, slightly spicy flavor and melts easily in the mouth. Donkwa is commonly eaten as a quick snack, street food, or light breakfast.
